Award-Winning Mystery Short Story Author

I'm a mystery short story writer and editor. I've won the Agatha Award four times, the Macavity Award twice, and the Anthony, Silver Falchion, and Ellery Queen Readers Award once for my writing. I’ve won the Derringer once for my editing. I've been a finalist for major crime-fiction awards forty-nine times. For my writing: twenty times for the Agatha, eleven times for the Macavity, nine times for the Anthony, four times for the Derringer, and once each for the Thriller and the Silver Falchion. For my editing: two times for the Anthony and once for the Derringer. Additionally, in 2024 I was honored to receive the Edward D. Hoch Memorial Golden Derringer Award for Lifetime Achievement from the Short Mystery Fiction Society.
